she pouts, bottom lip sticking out
This always peeved Vahn. Enough to make him say,
“Does it look like I care, Nadia?”
never had she flinched
but now she winces.
He sighs and she cries,
then he prays and wishes
for what? who knows?
“Vahn, you’re not a god.
Let’s not play pretend.
You’re no good at it anyways,
love you ’til the end.”
he deflates
tired and aching
he just wanted a night out with friends
